How do you propose the extremists be isolated? I explained this in detail quite a few times before, but in short, through improving the living conditions of the general populace, who only wish a safe and relatively prosperous future for their families. Examples: (1) Northern Ireland. Irish support for IRA is down to single digits now, and you may have noticed that there is no more violence. (2) Southeast Turkey. Military rule is lifted in various cities, Kurds can publish, sing, educate in their own language. And support for PKK is lower than ever before. (3) Chechnya. Putin proposed an autonomous Chechnya (although not a separate sovereign state). Referandum showed huge majority in favor of this plan, despite the pressures of the extremists, and now they are isolated.
