I didn't realize you were speaking in a macro sense. I went back and re-read you post and I see the point you were trying to make. I agree with this: << It is this fear that drives the market down as interest rates rise >> But I still stand by the notion that most techs don't have the same requirements for capital spending. How much did it take for Marc Andreesen and his buddies to create a super-hot browser? How about Gates and Allen? Jobs and Wozniak? They started in their garage. That's why it's dangerous to invest in companies like NSCP. Someone can come along and write a better program for nothing. On the other hand, how many people can design a chip out of their garage that rivals Intel? Zilch. It costs billions.
