90% of the energy from hydro power. Self sufficiency in oil by 2006 (delayed one year due to platform accident) . The best place for biomass energy. Distil sugar cane to make ethanol at USD0.20/liter, and use the residues to burn in a thermoelectric. Grow sugar cane for next year's harvest to 'sink' C02.

Producing a ton of sugar for USD180, vs Australia USD335 and Europe USD710. It is even cowardice if we would be allowed to compete with other countries.

And we are yet to start exploiting bio-diesel, from Babacu, dende or palm... Come on Bush sign Kyoto Protocol, we are salivating to sell renewable, clean energy.

And harvesting 315 million tons of sugar cane in Center-South Brazil, there is no danger of cachaca -the raw material of Caipirinha- going up.
