<<I guess it is convenient to omit that this site is also the remains of the Jewish Temples..>>

1) I was quoting a source which I identified as being the Palestinian viewpoint. I do this not to represent it as fact but only to show the viewpoint from the other side. (It's not clear if you are taking me to task or only the article).

2) I don't know what protocols are in place regarding the sharing of access to that holy site. Which, like most of the religious sites in that area, are holy to the three major religions "of the book".
--->> BUT - showing up at any holy site with a large contingent of armed soldiers is asking for trouble. Not to mention that Sharon, by himself, is a major provocation. (Imagine Malcom X showing up with the Nation of Islam at a Klan rally.)

3) I also found it quite interesting that tensions were apparently on the rise long before that ill-fated incident. Something that never really made it into the press coverage.
---->> I suspect that it is true and that Sharon was an flash point of convenience. If it had not been Sharon at the temple then it would have been something else.

4)<<Arabs are taught that there was no historical Jewish presence in the Holy Land..>>. While I have no doubt that some extremists are trying to rewrite history, I do not believe that you implication of Arabs in general is fair or accurate.
