I reserve the right to change my mind after seeing the races tomorrow (biases and such). As of now, I really don't have much to offer. I believe Empire Maker deserves to be the favorite, but I would not bet him at anything less than 7-2 (which I am not going to get). As far as I am concerned, he hasn't done enough to prove his superiority by enough to justify a bet at very short odds in a large field of improving 3 year olds that often produces unexpected trips and brand new peaks etc... Granted he is likely to improve some more, but I prefer getting paid for anticipating improvement and not have it built into the price.

All that said, most of the rest of the contenders seem flawed in one way or the other - which is probably the biggest reason EM will probably be the big favorite.

I guess I like Ten Most Wanted as the 2nd most likely winner, but he also appears to attracting attention and as my 2nd choice in this huge field, I would require in the neighborhood of 8-1 to get really excited.

After that, I believe I am really fishing among horses that are either suspect at the distance, lacking in preparation for 10 furlongs, or lacking in enough ability to get the job done without a lot of improvement.
