Israel demolished its settlements in the sinai for peace with Egypt. Convenient indeed! Yes, it was convenient for Israel. After very nearly getting sliced in half by Egypt in 1973, the Israeli leadership decided to accept the Egyptian peace offer at Camp David in 1977. Note that Israel REJECTED the identical peace offer in 1971. In short, Israel understood the language of force. Israel has never ceded land unless faced with violent resistance. That philosophy has had tragic consequences. Tom
