Genetically engineered crops to survive droughts and double production needed to support the growing populations. 911 demanded a new direction, to prevent the destruction of people and cities and preserve all the good that has been created to date, to make the sacrifices of men who fell in battle worthwhile.To eliminate Terrorism
Japan, China, Asia, and now the ME are all changing course, treating people in a more humane manner.
What more proof does one need that 911 to say it was time for a change ?
But change is very worrisome because nobody can predict the future- jobs, social positions change and new learning is required.
Everyone is concerned, will the new Iraq be successful?. Will the US be more or less welcomed in the ME?
Will the UN make required changes or cease to exist?
For some catastrophe seems just around to corner, and perhaps it seems best not to change things more, let N Korea develop nukes, and hope for the best. Let Israel and Palestine continue to duke it out, while other Arab nations keep supplying Arrafat with weapons.
Since changes will occur regardless of their welcome, it is better to try to set a course.that will lead to making a more and peaceful humane world, to let people get on with the more interesting adventures that lie ahead in the fields of technology, science, entertainment, and medicine.
Has any other country provided a vision, a direction ?. Castro? The Saudi Princes? OBL? Chirac? Saddam.?
Boliva? Fox? Kim?
Though default, that job has fallen on the US, working with allies like the UK and Spain.
