i just got this imaging software for $9.99....

Acronis True Image 6.0
acronis.com

it appears to be better in many respects than Ghost and DriveImage. i have installed it on winxp and win2000 machines, so far. no imaging/restore attempts yet, just learning the interface. ultra-cool ability to image from within windows without booting into DOS. also ability to back up to a network drive... something DI says it can do but i never could get to work.

as for the $9.99 price, AcronisTI is making this offer....

Special offer to Norton Ghost® users
acronis.com

i don't have ghost installed, but i figured if they'd do it for ghost, they might do it for DriveImage. i emailed a request for same to Acronis and they said they'd do it!

i asked them if i could post this extra offer on a few forums, and here, in part, was the reply....

"No problem with posting this offer on few forums. But please ask to contact info@acronis.com since the upgrade from DI is not automated. Thank you. Regards, Max Tsypliaev"

i think i just found a great alternative to the old workhorse DI, and wanted to pass the info along to the thread.
