...explain how VD in east African baboons will reach San Francisco??

Some of the sick basturds in San Fran that call themselves "gift givers" are beginning to get bored with just passing out AIDS while "barebacking" everybody that they can. So now I'm sure some of them will be on the next flight to Africa hoping to get some of this new stuff! Then they can come back to San Fran and give out a double dose!

Rolling Stone’s February 6, 2003 issue features “In Search of Death,” an expose on “bug chasers” and “gift givers” in the homosexual community. Bug chasers are homosexuals who actively seek to become HIV infected because they consider it the ultimate erotic adventure. “Gift givers” are HIV-infected men who knowingly infect others—and enjoy giving death to their sex partners.

...experts on the psychology of HIV-negative men have documented, there are also other emotions drawing them to the virus, including survivor guilt, a sense of inevitability about the prospect of seroconversion, an identification of AIDS with gayness, an association of seroconversion with a positive life transformation, and more. Pete, a 33-year-old gay man, expresses this ambivalence. "I was so afraid of becoming positive for such a long time," he says, "and once that happened, I felt relief. I also decided I didn't want to spend my whole life going without the sex I love the most." For many, liberation from the necessity of condom use with other positive men presents a certain appeal. A popular and ironic barebacking slogan coined by Stephen Gendin in these pages almost two years ago sums it up: "Membership has its privileges."
