Dear Lizzie: Well, it is my understanding that the complete tax reform package also includes substantial benefits to small companies. Such benefits as lowering individual rates (most small companies are taxed as individuals (sole proprietorships, partnerships or Sub S corporations) thus lowering their rates leaves more money available for capital investment. This then is coupled with SUBSTANTIAL increases in capital investments writeoffs which would encourage these same small companies to make those investments with the saved cash. An example used for those that are ANTI Bush tax reform is that a sole proprietorship could buy a 75,000 SUV (like a Hummer) and write the WHOLE THING OFF the first year. Now, this is looked at as a NEGATIVE by those people, but I look at it as a POSITIVE cause thats EXACTLY what I want them to do, to go out and BUY something to get that money into circulation. I am not jealous if someone gets a better deal then I do, so long as MY desire is met, which is an improved economy and hopefully stock market. jdn
