Great Confrontations Between The US And Major NATO Nations Appear To Be Taking Shape Since Iraq Invasion_ unfortunately.

>>Brewing differences over Europe's defense also dominated the talks after four NATO members opposing the American and British war against Saddam Hussein — France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg — said on April 29 they were setting up their own European military headquarters for operations outside the NATO arena.<<

Even though this development of great split within NATO is very well in line with some speculation about NATO future before the Iraq war. But looking further ahead, the picture doesn't look pretty.

Recently, US officials warned its traditional allies and friend France Germany Belgium and Russia etc. about their stand against the Iraq war and are seeking to sideline these nations. Colin Powell warned France would face consequences because of recent events(regarding Iraq invasion). Now France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg formed their own military headquarters outside NATO, which seems to be a direct answer to US officials' threat.

Great Confrontations between the US and major NATO nations appear to be taking shape since Iraq invasion.

IS the US government winning the Iraq war(which was strongly advocated by Israel), but losing the world?

P.S. The news about France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg formed their own military headquarters outside NATO seemed to be missing from the front page of the US media. Or maybe I missed something.
