I wonder if that's really true. These guys are being promised a religous wonderland of virgins if they martyr themselves. It's sometimes a fuzzy dividing line between courage and stupidity. During WWII the Japanese would charge into heavy machine gun fire with cries of 'bonzai!'. They all died making a useless gesture.

Brave...well, ok yes sort of. But, dumb...most definitely.

I'm reminded of General George Patton's famous words, "It is not the object of a soldier to die for his country, but to make sure the other poor bastard dies for his country."
