Dear Charles: No, that is a common misconception that EVEN I as an accountant used to have. Fact is many people chose Sub S election if they qualify specifically to avoid DOUBLE TAXATION on their earnings (ie dividends are a return of capital thus tax free in Sub S). Thats exactly what Bush wishes to extend to ALL businesses not just those with limited ownership. Now, dont get me wrong, I am not HUNG UP on this thing, I do believe though that we are OVERTAXED as a nation and that some sensible relief would aid in the recovery. I think the relief needs to be aimed at the CAPITAL MARKETS if one wishes to fuel the recovery. How its done is of little concern to me. But to do NOTHING and just give more money to the state governments who also WASTE MONEY LIKE MAD (and this I KNOW from PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE) is not gonna fuel anything. jdn
