Israel understands that it must respond to peaceful, responsible behavior with behavior in kind. Oh please. The only example of people being awarded land without having to fight for it, to the best of my knowledge, were Jews establishing Israel. Never happened before, and I dare say it will never happen again. Most Israelis view settlements as a means to increase strategic depth Exactly. Israel will just keep on building settlements into Palestinian territories until there will be no more land to give to the Palestinians. Then trust will miraculously appear...
