I disagree, however, that Lieberman looked particularly good.
When I look at Lieberman, I have a couple of cruel thoughts. First, it is hard for a little guy to get elected. Voters like big people. Second, I think we have the "Nixon in China" syndrome in effect for Jewish, Black, and Female candidates for Prez. The first ones elected to Prez in any of those three categories will be conservatives, IMO.
The setup with the moderater made the show, and will be the standard by which we judge these things in the future. George did a great job. No dull speeches, just right into the fray.
Final thought. Now that the primaries are so compressed, this type of thing, so early, is going to serve as a TV primary. It will cut the candidates down by media exposure. Yes, we are waaaay to early. But it makes it fun for a buff like me. I had not realized how caught up in this I was until I started this thread. |
