Sounds like the usual Hersh stuff--though I need to read it in more detail. Competing agencies with different agendas spoon-feed the old guy, and he reports the results as the Gospel Truth. He's a proven sucker for the oldest game in the book. The nefarious AQ airlift involving thousands upon thousands of evil AQ and Taliban getting free air fare from the US to their hiding holes in Pakistan was the latest iteration of the game. In that instance, it appears to have been played by Indian intelligence. On reflection, the bit about Perle meeting with Saudi bigwigs, including proven crooks, was probably the latest time he got suckered. Sad to see the hero of My Lai go down the yellow journalism road. Perhaps there is something to his latest report, though my eyes are jaundiced.
