SARS update from WHO 05/05/2003

who.int

461/6583 = 7.00%
death rate

2764/6583 = 41.98%
recoverd

Actual death rate seems to be much higher than
the 7% above as even if there were to be no more
new cases going forward we still have 3819 individuals
that are sick with SARS .. if 7% of those sick also
untimately expire from complications of the disease;
we can expect about 267 additional deaths from those
already infected .. for an actual death rate of
683/6583 or 10.37% or more .. sure hope this virus
goes dormant over the summer or the numbers are going
to get big fast if the present rate of new case growth
persists ..
