I've been having a rather odd argument with a German man on Free Republic, about Muslim women teachers who want to wear headscarves while teaching school.

He's been arguing that it's against the law in Germany -- apparently this is still under appeal to the highest German court unless they've ruled recently -- but what's odd is that in Germany the constitution mandates teaching religion in public schools but they only teach Protestantism and Catholicism, not Islam or any other minority religion.

At any rate, Muslim women teachers are free to wear headscarves if they want to in America, but nobody teaches religion in public school.
