Jew and Israelite are used interchangeably in the New Testament -------------- Shalom wrote:
>>" ...While the other nation is called "the whole house of Judah", "the house of Judah", "the children of Judah" "all Judah", and "Judah" OR "the Jews".
The name Jew is derived from the name of Judah (son of Jacob), Hence the name Jew and Jews are applied ONLY to the people who composed the Kingdom of Judah and "all Judah" and which finally bacame known as "Judea" and "Jewry", "all Judea" and All Jewry<< ------------------------------------------------------------------- Shalom is saying that in the New Testament the word Jew is reserved exclusively for people of the tribe of Judah. Is this true or is this another false doctrine that Shalom has to hold to in order to believe and teach the Anglo-Israel Identity heresy?
In the New Testaement the word Jew and Israel are clearly used interchangeably.Let us look at some Scriptures.
In Rom. 11:1, Paul calls himself an Isrealite: "For I am also an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham of the tribe of Benjamin.
PAUL IS AN ISRAELITE FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH.
In Acts 21:39, Paul calls himself a Jew.
"But Paul said, I am a man which am A JEW of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia,... ------------------------------------------------- So, according to the Scriptures, Paul belongs to one of Shaloms's mythical Lost Ten Tribes The "Lost Ten Tribe" myth is one but one of the "Jewish fables" that the Anglo-Israel Identity movement has swallowed.
We are speaking of serious heretical teachings that could eventually lead some Christians into apostasy. May the Spirit of God give all thoses who read these important matters a love of truth and a spirit of discernment.
Christ, the hope of salvation and eternal life to all who believe upon His Name. To God the Fahter, our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit belong honor and power and glory, now and forever, and ever.
