You are out there planting flowers and let me tell you what I did yesterday.....

....in our front yard, prior to us purchasing this house, there was a large Oak tree. There are several on our lot, many of which are still with us, but this one is not. However, they left the roots and stump in the ground, covered over with dirt and grass. Over the years this section on the lawn has been sinking and it has gotten so bad, that you can literally, if you step on the right spot, have your foot sink down into the ground.

So yesterday I dug up a section of our front yard, probably about six feet by six feet and removed a lot of old decayed stump matter.

Now, perhaps you remember our little discovery last year. Little critters. Well, in this old decayed stump matter I found hundreds of the damn little termites. Yuk.

At least our house is protected, cause baby, they are still out there and in force.

If I was our neighbors, I would be concerned...very concerned. I removed a great deal of their feeding territory in the last year by taking off the menu my wood pile and my house. I now removed the old dead tree stump. My yard is going to be termite food free! :) Bet they get hungry and go searching....

The amazing thing is, many neighbors did not take this very seriously...and have done nothing. Based on what I found in my house and yard, I would take this very seriously, because my goal is to have a yard full of HUNGRY termites.
