He wasn't even gambling. Gambling requires some chance of winning. He blew it on video poker and slot machines. Mathematically exactly the same as sitting down in the middle of the road and burning stacks of hundred dollar bills. This is a special kind of fool. A magazine printing a story like this is not a new phenomenon. There was never a time in the history of the country where this kind of information wasn't a big story.
