It is simply a matter of the US returning to its natural size. "The geographical extent, population, and natural resources of the U.S. suggest that it ought to possess perhaps 16 or 19% of the world’s wealth and power, but because of historical and technical circumstances favourable to it, that share rose to 40% or more by 1945"

The US will return to its 'natural size'. Europe will keep it natural size by adding "geographical extent, population, and natural resources" of Eastern Europe via enlargement. One of the reasons we think the US will need more NAFTA than Latin America does, is because the need for the US to do a Europe to keep from shrinking.

Once capital goes from consumption of 700million people to build infrastructure for 5.3illion people, the overall economic pull will be really big.

Strip out all the the daily news that cloud our views, give the whole construct a hard look and it is actually simple.
