George Stephanopoulos was on Rose tonight. He feels that no Dem Candidate has a chance unless he can present himself as well qualified to handle Commander in Chief. He feels this rules out any that were anti-war. Bush goes in with a 50 point lead on national security, and you can't beat it with economics and health care. You have to make people feel safe about national security. He felt that Lieberman did the best on the debate.

The other panelists that joined in for the second half were basically of the same opinion. They pointed out that their was no security issues in 92, and if there had been, Clinton could not have been elected. Good thing for the Dems that we have a long way to go.

That's the first time I have seen Stephanopoulos in a relaxed discussion like Rose. Impressed the hell out of me. Especially coming off that great moderator job he did for the debate.

Did you pick up on that article about what Rove has planned for the campaign? He is going to "Clinton" the Democrat. As soon as the Dem Convention is over, blast the guy with tons of negative advertising and pull down his numbers while he is still out getting money. Then, a late Republican Convention in New York with all the 911 symbolism, and only eight weeks until the election. Improvement on what Clinton did to Dole. Rove has learned from a master.
