Yes that makes sense.

If one cannot or can no longer accede to the status quo (rising tension) then an agressive act is justified.

Can we stand on that as a pat statement or does it need to be further qualified?

Back to Popeye "that's all I can stands, cus I can't stands n'more...toot toot." Is there a way to define the moment that such a position becomes justified (without getting bogged down in arguable examples? A threshold of tolerance?
