Yes, prior to the 1987 sell off the dollar had been sold. One thing I can remember with the 1987 debacle was liquidity. The Ted Spread at that time was so wide you could drive an 18 wheeler through it. There is plenty of liquidity right now, at least as defined by this indicator, but that could change quickly.

In 1987 our Treasurer announced he did not care about the currency and the dollar was sold with vigor. Snow has been silent during this last assault on the dollar, which surprises me.

I do not understand why the CRB index is not flying like I would expect with the currency decline. Maybe it takes a while for things to get in sink.
