James Grant is a Perma - Bear (almost). Editor of Grant's Interest Rate Observer newsletter, about $600 / year. His group tends to do their homework, has a following in hedge fund and banking community.

Also he has a column in most issues of Forbes, which is often a simplified, shorter version of a topic that was in the newsletter.

Annaly NLY is a ninterseting beast , a Mortgage Reit. Don't know if there is a thread on SI discussing them.
ON Yahoo, the TEI message board has frequent mentions and prespectives on Mortgage Reits.
