US$ 133,6 million for a Guggenheim Museum in Rio.

I see your point of misplaced priorities. But perhaps something positive will evolve from the creation of a world class museum. I mean it's not like whoever approved this expenditure is spending the money on alcohol and naked women. There is something positive and cultural and educational inherent in a museum. If the museum can generate tourism monies, and perhaps monies that can go towards better education for Brazilian youth, then the museum might not be so bad after all...
