21st Century Technologies Inks a Deal With Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure
May 07, 2003 07:31:00 AM ET

FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 7, 2003--21st Century Technologies, Inc. TFCT, a rapidly growing homeland security company, announced today that its subsidiary, Trident Technologies, has signed an agreement with Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. SGR. According to the agreement, Trident will provide Shaw with its magnetic ProMag patch that has the capability to stop virtually any potentially disastrous leakage before it gets out of hand.

Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure is one of the nation's largest full-service contractors, providing solutions for environmental and infrastructure projects worldwide. The company's clients include the federal government, municipalities, institutions and commercial industries. Its more than 6,000 professionals are strategically located in more than 90 offices throughout the U.S. and abroad. Shaw brings together the resources of two industry leaders: The IT Group and Stone & Webster, Inc.

Trident's ProMag patch quickly and safely stops virtually any leakage. Whether the leak is on an open-ocean tanker, inland waterway bridge, railway tanker, remote pipeline or shore storage tank, Trident's versatile patches save time and money and protect the environment. Trident's clients include Bayer (NYSE: BAY- News), Cabot (NYSE: CBT - News), Basf (NYSE: BF - News) and Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM - News).

"Our project with Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure proves that ProMag is quickly becoming the standard among the world's leading companies who want to prevent and stop financially and environmentally disastrous leaks. We are looking forward to making additional announcements on our progress very soon," says Arland Dunn, President and CEO of 21st Century Technologies.

In addition to serving large corporations, 21st Century Technologies is also getting increased attention from the homeland security related agencies. For example, if local fire stations decided to include our ProMag patches in the toolsets, this would dramatically increase their preparedness and ability to contain potential hazardous leaks arising from terrorist activities or other local accidents involving leaks. This is becoming a very important issue.

ProMag and SeaPatch magnetic patches provide a fast, tight and effective seal on any container vessel capable of magnetic adhesion. They are ideally suited for both open ocean and inland waterway ships and barges, and can also be used in a multitude of industrial settings and transportation systems where hazardous materials (hazmat) are manufactured, stored, handled or shipped. Hazmat specialists particularly like the way ProMag can be used to quickly stop railway tank car ruptures, one of the hardest and trickiest to deal with in and during a spill-on emergency.

Using the Trident Technology's patented system of cam-on cam-off magnets, SeaPatch or ProMag attach first to the container vessel following the shape of the hole. Their modular design gives the user the flexibility to build the device around the hole it is intended to seal. Once the locking arms and frame are in place, the gasket plate can be securely tightened to seal the hole and block the leak. What used to take days or even weeks to accomplish can be done in just a fraction of the time. ProMag easily conforms to the size, shape and dimensions of the vessel. A railway tank car crack or puncture does not represent a problem for ProMag, because it has the flexibility to get to the root of the problem, no matter where it is located and stop the leak in its tracks. ProMag can also secure pipelines, tanks and any other transportation or storage containers.
