Look, if I think that a crime is going to be committed, I would tell the police and not try to stop it myself unless there was immediate danger of harm to myself or someone else e.g. if I had a gun and could stop a potential assailant. If the police don't act, then it's not my fault. I did what I was supposed to, same as Kerry did, IMO.
