Seems a little drastic to me, Ken ... how about till 0600 in the morning ... unclewest has since the start of this thread contributed more than many, including myself ... maybe he gets a little strongly worded at times, well he's not the only one ... i disagree quite strongly with him on some points, at the same time it is clear that he would fight for my right to express that disagreement ..... nothing in those two posts is all that bad anyway - the reference to Viet Nam vets and spitting, you have to recall that some vets actually were spit on when they landed back in the states, this is part of their collective memory, very strong
When unclewest can post here again, i'll consider making the time .... until then he would be more than welcome to join me over here - Subject 52112 ... where one thing i'd like to get into is promoting freedom of expression for cubanos, without in any way involving any branch of US government, overtly or covertly ..... too much baggage there, too big a stick to make the soft walk credible, imho .... but it's important that cubanos get free speech, it is a blot on our hemisphere that their old porker of a caudillo is able to deny it to them, and there are hundreds of millions of the Rest of Us in these Américas ..... i always thought the Elián thread would seque into the Cuba thread after we got the boy released to his father and Castro lost that bit of high moral ground, but it didn't, it just died, folks lost interest .... later ..... think about it eh .... cheers |
