"If Options Counted, Intel's Cost $298 Mln
Reuters, Wednesday May 7, 2:10 pm ET
...............Intel, a vocal opponent of accounting regulators' efforts to mandate the expensing of stock options, said such a requirement would have cost it $298 million or 5 cents per share, in the first quarter, based on the Black-Scholes option pricing model, the most often-used method to value options. That would have cut quarterly net income to $617 million, or 9 cents per share -- 33 percent less than the $915 million, or 14 cents per share, that the company reported under generally accepted accounting principles.
