Yes, I am very sure. They go to great lengths to explain just how filthy pigs are (or "were", at those times) - rolling in their own excrement, eating the said excrement, etc... Nothing about "infidels" at all.

Interesting. I know quite a few very much "believer" Jews and they eat pork...

As an effect, perhaps. But was that the reason? I would like to see some links to historical research, if you could find some.
