You gotta be kidding. I would hardly call 30 helicopters taking a few small arms hits a major defeat.


Small arms fire shot down one chopper and hurt the 29 others so badly that they could not complete the mission and had to return to base. Not a good show, UW. I think there will be an reassessment of the Attack Helicopter. I know one is underway. I loved them too.

The Air Force is in trouble also. The A-10 was the only aircraft that could operate under 5000 feet. Against a real poor enemy. They were using F-15/16s as spotters, for christ's sake! Remember the Mohawk from Nam? They need something like it.

It is going to be a fun time in the Pentagon for the next few years.
