I know of no observant jews that eat pork, not to say that some don't. Of course, your regular run of the mill jewish person eats pork galore. Sorry I have no research links to provide regarding the dietary laws and its resulting effect of isolating the community from others. But it is something I've heard many times over from jewish religious scholars.
