Who is Bob Pepper? Where you in the meeting? Is your info first, second, third-hand....a rumor?....or confirmed (independent 2nd source) fact?

John Cooper (Adtran) not only denied (yesterday) any knowledge of a "fatal architectural flaw" in Adtran's POET....but stated "....that we continue to enjoy (in this area) the leading position." (However, if there is a problem....it is common sense their strategy would be to delay admission of a failure....& fix it.)

He further reports "....the contributions to the standards setting process....all incorporate POET concepts as their underlying premise."

George Zimmerman (Chief Scientist, Pairgain) independently reported 7/31/97 their team "....presented variants of this overlapped transmission technology (POET) to the ANSI T1E1 committee...."

As I'm sure you know, Level One (Pair & ADC) are direct competitors to to Adtran (Siemens) in the emerging "HDSL-2" standards/market. The question is....was the reported discussion a "competitor bashing".... or a legitimate detection of a "fatal flaw?" If the latter, what is the "fatal flaw?"

I appreciate....& thank you....for your input.

JB

PS: I agree....this could be a buying opportunity. The question.... IS IT?
