What I was getting at is not politically correct. But I don't think it is reasonable to remain locked in policies that have their roots in the cold war. As undesirable as losing South Korea to NK would be, it would not be a national threat anymore. Hypothetically speaking, if North Korea can be fully disarmed, I'd be willing to consider letting them take over SK. The motivation here is that I don't see Russia or China arming them with intercontinental missiles pointing at us. And having the entire population of SK inside the NK regime may be the best way to bring them down...this is of course just a thought (and not fully considered at that) But little countries turning communist without any connection to a much greater soviet threat does not concern me as much.
