Hi roy,
The only reason I am not actively adding INTC/INTCW to my portfolio is that I am already heavily concentrated in this issue--the commons, warrants, LEAPS calls of various strikes amounting to almost 50% of my overall equity portfolio. This kind of stock allocation was by no means designed, yet the steep price appreciation of INTC/INTCW recent months had more or less distorted the diversification guidelines that I devised for myself.
However, if you are not in a similar situation, I would say that the present INTC price level is still attractive enough for further adding to your existing position. Intel, along with MSFT and CSCO, will go gangbuster in 1998 and beyond.
Regards, Ibexx
PS: In fact, starting last Friday, I began to sell small portions of my LEAPS calls gradually--not that I thought INTC had reached a short/intermediate top, but in preparation for a possible visit of SS Kahuna in the September/October timeframe. I do not plan to take a large load of options on board in the event that she does make Wall Street a port-o-call, however transient it may be. |
