If you are happy with your fellow Americans, then (imo) you leave them no room to become the better people they should become. Smug, self satisfied people, are small people imo. A country all wrapped up in itself makes a pretty small package. I think Americans can do better, and be better. But then I'm an optimist at heart. Obviously that's yet one MORE difference between the right and the left.

If you live up to your own expectations, imo, you set your expectations FAR too low.
