Well, it stayed pretty nice here all day. Quite warm and sunny, although it looked like we might get rained on for awhile this afternoon.
I made the best of the weather and worked in the flower gardens this morning, and then in the vegetable garden this afternoon. I managed to get things worked up well enough to plant 3 kinds of lettuce and 3 of spinach, the arugula, some radishes, beets, green onions, snow peas, regular peas and also some bok choy. Turns out there are quite a few white and yellow spanish onions that I must have missed pulling in the garden last autumn, so I'm just gonna leave them grow to harvest for green onions as they do just as well for that as long as you harvest them while the shoots are pretty small.
Had a good day. The birdsong is terrific around my place. I can hear a Wood Thrush somewhere in the forest beside the house... they make a sort of piping flute-like sound.. I think they may be my favourites of all the birds.
Sure feels great to see summer back again.
