elmat,

Two things that you have gotten utterly wrong here.

1) a Gallup Poll states 52% of the US citizens agrees with it. This is ten points % gain on the last two weeks.

Did they pose exactly the same question two weeks ago? Do they have a statistically significant sample? Did they pose the question to lead the response? Who is reporting this? Is there corroboration from other so-called pollsters? Are they truly independent? Are the responses being skewed by the call to boycott pollsters among intelligent people as suggested by Arianna Huffington, among others, who say that we need to tell pollsters to go to hell? Is the poll skewed because upper income people who are likely to see through George Bush's constant barrage of lies have caller ID and are unlikely to talk to a "pollster/huckster/wanker"?

Finally, could it just be possible that obsessing over polls means that you and others don't have to debate facts and policy implications? Don't take this personally, but quoting polls is an indication of an under-developed political sophistication.

Re: What is necessary it is to cut taxes AND CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING drastically. Then we would see a benefit.

Pardon me while I leave the room to retch. Who, exactly, is this mythical "we" that you are refering to? It is obvious that elitist criminals like George Bush and those who feed him his constant meal of bribes will benefit. Unless I'm mistaken, this "we" doesn't include you and me.

We are about to be screwed by George Bush's utterly cynical and ruthless attempts to destroy the social programs of government. We are the intended victims of the shrinking of public largesse of government to individuals as the welfare for corporate whores like Boeing, Lockheed and Raytheon soars to ridiculous and destructive levels. We are being cuckolded as the U.S. government, fully in the control of a criminal/corporado conspiracy, strips the assets of the working and middle classes and transfers the wealth to a class of criminal aggressors who invade nations at will, just so they can steal the resources, and are so brazen that they no longer feel compelled to lie about the fact that they are an "Occupying Government". We are aghast at the theft of our common future and our democracy by a craven, grasping, greedy and selfish cabal of criminals.

We reject your simplistic concept about the benefit of shrinking all socially useful aspects of government while being enslaved to pay for the most savage and aggressive and illegal military force since the demise of the immoral regime of Hitler's Nazi Germany.

We also are not stupid enough to not realize that George Bush, rather than shrinking the government, is actually expanding it at an alarming rate, with the intention of subjugating the American population as well as any others, like the Iraqis, who have had the unfortunate luck to be sitting atop natural resources that the cabal wishes to steal.

[[Note: Apoligies to Mq, for stealing the It schtick. We just sounds so much more, ummm, human to a democrat like me, and democratic to a human like me. It seems over-the-top Orwellian, if not Kafkesque, if not Hellerian to a literate soul like me. ]]
