Pretty much in agreement with you. One point you failed to mention: politics. Your comment about the manufacturing lobby is, IMHO, dead on. Problem is, it appears that this administration is "all ears" when they send their lobbyists up to the hill. Let's not forget all the talk about fair trade, and the institution of tariffs about a year ago on steel. On a s/t basis, allowing the US$ to fall may be politically viable - but it has it's risks. Economic circumstances being what they are, the fed may need to lower rates again. Combine that with the what appears to be a lack of support for the USA right now, and we could be in for a bumpy ride for a while.
