Arik, I have been mulling this situation over and trying to understand this market dynamic. We really have two markets Nasdaq and S&P.

I'm considering the possibility that the S & P is a representative of the past generations, while the Nasdaq is the vibrant young market of the future. "The Market of the Next 100 Years"

While the S & P has been tremendously overvalued the Nasdaq has been the pour stepchild. Your right a 20% drop would cause a definate change in investor mentality and consumer/business spending. But if the Nasdaq takes off and actually becomes the symbolic vision of the market rather than the Dow & S&P, people would not get so agitated.

I am not discounting the fact that damocles effect is possible or becoming a bright eyed bull. I am just trying to see both sides of the Kahuna. In the past looking at only one side has been disaster.

The millenium comet could be the doomsday signal or it could be the signal of heaven on earth. Maybe the choice has been left up to us.
