I flew CAAC- and was told, while waiting to board, that they flew bad planes. I remember when we got on the plane we could see an abandoned plane, nose down into a field, and it did NOT inspire confidence in me. One of our more cheery traveling companions said that CAAC stood for "China Airlines Always Crashes".
