Clearly, there is at least some deterrence, insofar as those "hung" do not kill again, and clearly, the case that mistaken conviction is intolerably present in the system is not made. The only valid objection to capital punishment is a determination that we hold human life so sacred will not even execute a murderer. However, this has no weight in an abortion on demand culture, where people are free to kill the innocent, but not the guilty........
