Someone once suggested that his speech was intentional. He intended to burst the bubble and destroy the economy. He knew full well that the "little guy" would be left holding the proverbial bag.

Too many "average Joes" were making money on stocks, destabilizing his ideal economic model. A model which consists of the "elite", the "poor" and the "average joes" whose hard work supported the elite and the poor.
