Attention! ATTENTION!! I smell fish of AVIR! This company's behavior is very strang. It had several press release since Jan. 1997 about the flu vaccine clinical trial. It is very unusual since the trial is blind and no one knows the results before unblind the trial. Those press release would subject to law suit if the trial is not good. This company is like to release something uncertain but they did not have press release about their quartly fincial reports since last November. All the recommondations from H&Q and other analysts were publicly released but the recommondation from H&Q at July 25th can't been found publicly. I am very appriciate Brad told us that >> Sturza came out with a strong buy recommendation on Friday and based on the 300 million market cap for a company at the later stages of the fda cycle for a product addressing a very large market is a compelling buy in today's envirenment<<. He also tell us that >> If this were true (the recommondation at same time the company files for secondary offering) H&Q could be severely fined by NASD<<. That is the reason why such recommondation did not be released because it is against NASDQ rules. I belive I will call NASDQ to investigate such things in Monday. This H&Q was involved in the DNA (Diana Corp) scandal. Combining with other strang things happened in this stock, the red light is ON!! Any one who brought the AVIR above the $20 should remember this information, which may be a critical evidence in future law suit when the price dropped to teens. However, the law suit will last for long time (The DNA law suit has not finished yet), best way to avoid the trap is taking the profit and run. The huge insiders filing is a signal that the price is overvalued and at its top or near the top. The market sentment is changing. The people who are very old and suffering diseases may die after geting flu but the flu vaccine announced recently are not suitable for them because the vaccination may kill those people as well. AVIR is developing a special Flu vaccine for the old people but it is long way away.
