Training Exposure Pays Off -- 21st Century's Trident ProMag Being Acquired by Fire Departments Across the Country May 12, 2003 07:31:00 AM ET
FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 2003--21st Century Technologies, Inc.'s TFCT long-standing policy of cooperation with and assistance to training centers for firemen/HazMat personnel located at Holden, Louisiana, Pueblo, Colorado and Texas A&M at College Station, Texas is earning sales for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Trident Technologies, Inc., manufacturer of ProMag and SeaPatch magnetic leak-sealing systems. The Sacramento Metro Fire House Special Operations unit has purchased ProMag 4 to increase its efficiency at handling HazMat leaks and other situations which require quick sealing of leaks and ruptures. Similar orders will be placed by the fire departments at Dayton, Ohio, Woodlands, Texas, El Paso, Texas and Honolulu, Hawaii, all of which are in the process of obtaining funding to acquire ProMag systems. Sacramento's funding is provided by a combination of local funds, federal fire grant funds, and Department of Justice funds.
"Training sessions at these centers provide excellent exposure for our ProMag and SeaPatch systems," said Arland D. Dunn, CEO of 21st Century. "The sessions provide hands-on experience to the very people we regard as marketing targets...the people who protect us all from the hazards of not only fire, but chemical spills, toxic leaks and the like. Given the opportunity, they all want ProMag/SeaPatch to be part of the equipment on hand to assist them in their duties. This sale and other upcoming sales all have at their source the excellence of our products. These sales are very satisfying."
Mr. Dunn further stated that he believed substantial funding assistance will be forthcoming from the Department of Homeland Security to assist local fire departments/police to obtain ProMags. "This product is right for the times," said Mr. Dunn. "I believe our equipment will become a standard item to be carried by fire departments, rescue squads and the like. We are ready to assist them all in obtaining our ProMag or SeaPatch."
ProMag and SeaPatch quickly and safely stop virtually any leakage from a ferrous container/vessel, whether the leak is on an open-ocean tanker, railway tanker, remote pipeline or shore storage facility. Trident's clients include Bayer BAY, Cabot CBT and Exxon Mobil XOM. Business with large corporations is obviously important; however, the increased attention ProMag is receiving from homeland-related agencies, such as local fire departments or HazMat units is equally as important.
ProMag and SeaPatch magnetic patch systems provide fast, tight and effective seals, even under difficult circumstances. Even ruptures, difficult ones like tank car ruptures, can be dealt with quickly, efficiently and relatively economically by ProMag.
The grip of Trident's patented permanent magnet system is so powerful that a special cam tool is required to pull the magnets away from a ferrous surface to which they are attached. The attachment systems, including frames and the patches themselves are carefully designed to handle a variety of shapes and applications with maximum flexibility with maximum ease of installation.
