This is an interesting series of events that shows that management appears to have really bungled it.

On May 1, the MarketWatch article stated that a company spokesman said that the names of the analysts and the firms they represented were not immediately available. Eight days later the same author wrote that the company is refusing to reveal the names.

The company's statement e-mailed to MarketWatch in response to the May 1 article is that Goldman answered questions using the same information conveyed during the conference call that took place on April 23. Why in the world would the company hold a private meeting with analysts, meaning a meeting that is not available to the public, just one week after the conference call unless there was additional information to impart? After having been fined for violating FD, you'd think they would know better. It really smacks of corporate arrogance to me.

At least management has finally, finally, supposedly decided not to hold any analyst meetings that aren't being broadcast on the Internet.
