<<HMS Ark Royal switches off BBC>>

It amazes me that people still use this as a "see, I told you so" about BBC coverage. The British military has always butted heads with them......this is nothing new. They tend to show stuff that is considered "sensitive" in military terms ie. stuff they (the military) don't want you to see.

I point to this as a plus.....do you want your media to become a pawn of the establishment?? I remember watching lots of stuff on the BBC from Northern Ireland that the military certainly did not want aired. Similarly with West Bank coverage.....I remember one incident in particular that showed 3 IDF soldiers beating a 15 year old Palestinian within an inch of his life in an isolated area on a hillside. This was all over the European coverage, when I came to the US a couple days later not one person I asked had seen any of it here!!

Sometimes the truth hurts and sometimes it's just not shown. The fact that they're pissing off the hard right both here and Israel reaffirms my opinion that they're doing something right.
