The impression I got, was that there is a trade off between how many CCD is equivalent to a Faveon sensor. If the math boils down to every 4-CCD is equivalent to 3-FS, then so longs as the price of CCD drops on par, there is no reason for manufacturers to redesign their plants...on other other hand, if there are other advantages like better temperature tolerance and better gamut even when compared to 33% greater CCDs, then we have a big time winner...but you are right, I should read more about it at their web site.
